But what is a paring knife?

As mentioned earlier, this is a small multipurpose knife (between 7 and 11 cm +/-) with a sharp blade. Formerly made of steel, we are discovering it more and more often made of ceramic.

You can use it for both sweet and savoury recipes. For cutting strawberries or crushing dried fruit, it will be your ally as well as for cutting meat or poultry.
